This is an ancient pre-columbian bead-hand drilled by the Celtics 6,000 years ago. The bead was made from a kind of stone called Unakite.

Unakite is used today in modern times in the fabrication of statues.

Since this bead was hand drilled thousands of years ago, making a single bead could have taken months of hard work to complete. And since there wasn't electricity or power tools back then the

Celtics had to also design their tools in order to produce stone bead jewelry all by hand.

They basically took a rock that nature formed and rounded the edges into a cylindrical shape, hand drill the hole. Then polished the finished product which is the bead.
